Scratch Media

Hi All,

im running daily (when ive changed the tapes) an inventory automatic.

But when the backup runs at night i notice the tapes tapes have been spit out. 

My media set is daily full

How can i change that i have to put the tapes set manually tot scratch media and take care of the fact that the tapes fully being overwritten?

Hi,

That's set by the media set that the tapes belong to. If the Append/OPP settings are set too long, the tape doesn't get reset as scratch.

You can erase the tape which will make it scratch, or move it to the scratch media set.

However, check the Append/OPP settings and make them shorter if need be.

so if i set the overwrite period to eg: 4 hours and append to infinite, then it must go good?

If you set the OPP to too short a time, you run the risk of accidentally overwriting the tape.
