Script to perfrom Inventory and erase media

Hi,

I am running BE 12.0 on a Windows 2003 SP 1 Server. I would like to know if it is possible to create a script so the BE performs an inventory of the media and a quick media of the media erase before it performs the daily backup.

Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated

You can use the command line utility (BEMCMD) and Task Scheduler to do this

But as for the Quick Erase, I'd rather set OPP so that tapes are overwriten automatically when they have expired

If you get busy or disrtacted and leave last night's Quarterly or Semi-Annual or Annual backups in the drive/library. and do a scheduled erase, that is not a good thing at all
