Selecting System State hangs BackupExec

Mark_Slater

BackupExec 11d (7170) 64 bit running o n Windows 2003 x64 R2 with SP2.

When trying to create a backup job hangs when attempting to select System State or Shadow Copy Components on local Server, can select local drives and Exchange Information Store OK can also select System State on remote servers OK.

Have tried uninstalling and reloading, also fully patching (using LiveUpdate) but still hangs every time when I attempt to select System State on the local server.

Any ideas anyone ?  Did a search on Internet and been unable to find a resolution for this issue.

Thanks

Mark.

I am also having a very similar problem in 10d.  I can select everything except for the system state on a remote server in the job setup (at which time it hangs indefinitely until i end the remote agent process on the server.  Here is a debug from the service (on remote server):

Is this a common issue fixed with patches?

Thanks,

Are you able to backup system state with NTBACKUP utility? Run VssAdmin list writers on command prompt. Check that all writers are stable and in no error state.
