We upgraded from 10D to 11D V 6235 Sp3
I actually built a new server just because the old one was a critical server and backups were slowing some of the applications down.
So I created a new selection list for 7 servers, saved it, then ran the job that night.
Has expected there were issues with some files that couldn't be backed up.
I went back to the selection list and started unchecking the files (SAV Temp files for example), then clicked OK.
The Ok button stays depressed for a moment or 2 then comes back to the same window (instead of going back to the main screen. The only way out is to cancel and changes are not saved.
When I tried modifying the selection list from the JOB instead of the selection list proper, I get an error message "Unable to create selection list"
10D ran smooth has glass, but this version is driving me nuts.

I'd highly recomment build 7170, but have no idea where you can get the install source
v10d and earlier are still available, but v11d is nowhere to be found. I used to have a link bookmarked, but the page is gone
Are you sure that no job was active that uses the selection list? (only reason I can think of why it might not save
Have you tried creating a new selection list (a Band Aid, I know, but if it works ...)

I've already created a new selection list and eventually the same thing happens.
Isn't 7170 just another build (SP?) on top of 11D?

don't know if it would actually help in this instance or not, but it appeared (IMHO) to be more stable than 6235 It did also include support for SQL 2007 and Exchange 2007 and Sharepoint 2007

Now this is an interesting "feature""
I have 3 jobs, Monday, Friday and Tues-thursday
If I edit the selection list in Tues-thursday it I can select/deslect what I want. But I edit the Friday one (they all use the same selection list) I get the selection error.
This is one F'd up program.
I'm not running SQL or EX2007(rather 2003) or Sharepoint so 7170 doesn't help me much.
I'd go back to 10D but the problem is the DB's are different and I've had someone spending days cataloging tapes again. (New server, no DB)
I spoke too soon, no sooner did I manipulate a few changes, then the rest of the jobs have decided they can't save the selection list.
I recall reading there was a registry key to expand the size of the selection list. Anybody know what it is?

Symantec Backup Exec (tm) 11.0 (11d) for Windows Servers revision 6235 Hotfix 28

What issues does this hotfix resolve?
1. Though successful, a policy-based duplicate is not including all the sets from the associated backup job
2. MaxRpcDatablockSize default setting has been increased

Ok so I updated to 7170 + Hotfixes, 47,48,51
same problem, still can't update my selection list.
Re-creating the list each and every time I want to add/remove something makes no sense at all.
