I have a client running BE 10d (10.1 Rev 5629), and twice now their differential backup has failed with a media insert error. Both times, the server has completely frozen, such that when they come in the next morning, no one can authenticate to active directory and the console screen is a blank background. The server requires a hard reboot to become functional again. After the reboot, the backups ran fine for a few weeks, then it happened again.
They are backing up to an external hard drive. It did not freeze when a full backup to the same device using the same selection list failed. I have adjusted the media overwrite settings to minimize future overwrite problems, but the whole server should still not freeze when a job fails. Anyone have any ideas
