Services hang at startup

I'm running BE 9.00 Rev 4454 on Windows 2000 Server SP4. Several services hang at start up when set to 'automatic.'

The event log shows error 7022 "The Backup Exec Device & Media Service service hung on starting." and error 7031 "The Backup Exec Device & Media Service service terminated unexpectedly." Error 7001 is also generated.

I can start the BE services without any problems as long as they are set to manual and the server has finished booting.

It seems as though this issue started occurring after the server was configured for Terminal Services Application Server mode. Office 2000 was also installed at this time. I reinstalled BE but the problem still exists. I ran BEUtility and repaired the database but that didn't help.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Pete
