Inconsistent data ??

Hello

My weekend backup job has failed for the past two weeks with the following Job Completion Status:

Final error code: a00084ca HEX
Final error description: The data being read from the media is inconsistent.
Final error category: Backup media errors.

This problem has happened using different DLT IV tapes. If it is a tape problem how can I pin point which tape (could be anyone of 4) ?? Any ideas anyone ??

It's not veru informative, but see http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/273455.htm for the Veritas explaination fo this error message.

To isolate the cause of issue, you may try performing backup using Microsoft's native backup utility (using same media) and verify the result. If you find similar errors using Windows NT backup then it may be because of the bad media.

Note: Stop all Backup Exec sevices prior to running Windows NT backup job
