Sharepoint GRT redirected restore

Hello,

I have a problem when I try to restore an individual item to a different folder from an incremental backup of Sharepoint 2010 (using GRT).

The mdf file is staged on the media server but at the end of the restore, I receive this error message:

Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe000fe30 - A communications failure has occurred.
Final error category: Server Errors

I see "Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows" service is stopped on the media server and i found this event:

Faulting application beremote.exe, version 14.0.1798.0, time stamp 0x4f1e02d7, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18541, time stamp 0x4ec3e855, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x00000000000acb17, process id 0x118c, application start time 0x01ce578c6f38e369.

I did not encounter this problem if I restore the same file from a full backup.

Hi Thomas,

That crash may be related to one we've seen with some customers during Sharepoint backups.  Since you are staging on restore, either you are backing up to tape or to OST device.  With those devices a service crash may occur during restore instead of backup.  See this TN and open a support case if possble.

If it isn't related to that technote, a case should be opened anyway for any Backup Exec service crash.
