The new document level SharePoint backups/restores are great, but users are constantly messing up their sites by overwriting the default.aspx, deleting forms folder etc. Is there a way to restore these items?
Only the images and documents from the content DB are available for granular restore in Sharepoint with Backup Exec. Do you do file backups of the Sharepoint web server? You could be able to bring back the default.aspx and/or the forms folder from that. That stuff isn't part of a normal 'Sharepoint agent' backup but is part of what defines your sharepoint site. Like any application server, a file backup should be done in addition to any agent backup you perform.
