Sharing the Library between 2 servers/Firewall in SAN/DAS BE9.1 Win2k

Hi,

We have 2 win2k servers with BE9.1 and One LTO library with 2 drives...

Server A is Outside the Firewall.
Server B is inside the Firewall/Locally.
tape library is LTO with 2 drives connected to SAN switch or if needed can hook directly to Server A.

Task: These 2 servers has to Share that Library and do the backups...Server will do backups in the local area network and Server B will do the backup of servers outside the Firewall..

How can I do that...do i have to install any specific agents and open any ports ...is it possible?

Hello,

Yes it is possible with the SAN Shared Storage Option (SAN-SSO). By means of this option, you will be able to use multiple media servers to share secondary storage devices. The Advanced device and media management database will need to reside on one media server which will be the Primary server. For more information on the details and configuration, refer to pages 939 - 966 in the Administartors manual for Backup Exec 9.1. You can download the manual at the following link:
