Simple Question - An Error Produces a Job Failure

I am new to BE and was wondering if my observation is true. Does a single error in the job cause a job failure? I am sending out alerts on job failure, and if there is a problem backing up a single file, I do not want the job to indicated it fails.

- If the job finishes with any error messages then the job is not considered as sucessful. It is a failed job.

Is there a way to filter or change this. The objective is to get jobs that truely fail, not due to an error backing up a single file.

- What is the exact error message that you receive?


- You can exclude that file from the selection list if possible and then try the backup.
