Snapshot error (0xfffffe29)

I'm running Veritas for Windows v9.1 on a W2K Server. I've a SQL 2000 Server running
on W2K Server. The backup does backup the SQL databases, but it also gives the following error:

"Backup - MYSERVEROFO: Initialization failure on: "\\myserver\C:". Advanced Open File Option used: Veritas Volume Snapshot Provider (VSP).
OFO: Snapshot error (0xfffffe29): Authentication failed on connection to the server.


OFO: Initialization failure on: "myserver". Advanced Open File Option used: Veritas Volume Snapshot Provider (VSP).
OFO: Snapshot error (0xfffffe29): Authentication failed on connection to the server.

How can I get rid of this error?

Hello Shane,

Is it a local backup or a remote?

Are you using the Advanced Open File Option for this backup?


If yes then it is recommended not to use AOFO with database backups like Exchange,SQL or Lotus Domino.

Try doing a backup without this option.
