I am using BE 9.1 and recently moved an ADIC Faststor DLT autoloader to a new server. In the process we also purchased new tapes at the time of the move.
We are now getting a lot of soft read and soft write errors. I've searched the groups here and tried a lot of the suggestions. Updated drivers, changed scsi controller settings, etc., but the problem continues. I've verified with other places that have similar drives, etc. and they get very few or no soft read erros on their tapes, but I'm getting thousands. I also looked at the old server statistics and there were almost no soft read errors when the drive was hooked up to that server, so I'm not convinced its the drive.
I'm going to try a few of the old tapes and see if that make a difference, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.
