Support for ISILON version 8.0.0.1

Post upgrade to HP ISILON ONEFS v8.0.0.1 support for NDMP backup with Backup Exec seems to be no longer possible.

We have also attemped on latest BE version 2016, ISILON seems to be able to be added as NDMP server but adding folders to include section clearly states in product that this ISILON version is not supported.

I find it difficult to believe that there has not been a hotfix released to fix this issue.

Does anyone know if this is due to be address in future fixes or releases - or is there a solution out there to allow customers who have upgrade OS on there ISILON Storage systems to continue to backup via NDMP option to tape.

Any advice or guidance that any has on this subject would be gratefully recieved

Have you checked the Backup Exec SCL:

Checking EMC Release there  are 3 x GA Version past the lastest supported version 7.2 that is shown in Veritas SCL / HCL.

We are finding it difficult to believe that no other customers have raised the fact that NDMP no longer works for HP ISILON

Speaking to ISILON support they suggessed we contact Veritas as there maybe workaround or hotfix that can resolve this issue - also to confirm when HCL / SCL will be updated to support later versions of ISILON ONEFS

its not a supported path at this moment even on version 2016. The software compatiblity guide clearly says it.

Max it supports still is V 7.2.X so you may back the smb as cifs paths

We had to revert back to CIFS to get backups out of the system, Dell/emc and Veritas does not seem to be talking together on this.

I'm hoping Veritas can see the value to talk to Dell about the isilon storage solution, even if its a high performance high volume system does not meen that customers whant to go to Netbackup to be able to arcive out of it.
