Switch full backup to incremental backup

Hi,

Apparently I have an existing job that running full backup with multiple server. One of the server job seems growth very big.

I am considering the incremental backup to workaround within the backup window.

What is the best way and how to switch the job to weekday incremental and weekend full backup for backup exec 12.5?

1 You can create policy with 2 templates one for incremental and one for full , Also make a new selection for this server and associate with the policy as you only want to do this for this server

If you have already a selection for this server only then you can associate that too the policy.

So I will duplicate the backup job with following?

1) Change the backup job 1 Server(S) , S1, S2, S4 weekday full backup

2) Change the backup job 2 S3 weekend full backup

3) Change the backup job 3 S3 weekday incremental 

What is the different between incremental using archive bit and using modified time?

Which approach should use for this senario?

I don't know what you mean by duplicate.  If you are asking whether your proposed jobs will backup something twice.   They don't.  You will not be backing up anything twice with your jobs.

Archive bit and modified time are just different methods to determine which files needs to be backed up when doing an incremental backup.  The modified time with the USN journal would be faster than the archive bit method.  Try using the modified time method and select the journal.
