Hello.

I have a server running Symantec Backup Exec 12.5 with SP4.

I want to know if there are some way from the console to check what servers / workstations have the client installed and if they are updated or not.

And in te case that they are not updated, how can I update all of them?

Thanks

I want to know if there are some way from the console to check what servers / workstations have the client installed and if they are updated or not.

In BE console, open a selection list and browse "Favorite Resources" here you will find list of

BE clients. If you right click on the client you will be able to find version.

And in te case that they are not updated, how can I update all of them?

In BE12.5 there is a utility bulk update RAWS, with this utility you can update all the clients

or else you can update the RAWS through Tools->Install Agent and media server.

EDIT

For Bulk update RAWS, refer to http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH72323

For push install RAWS refer to http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH138271

Hope this helps you in understanding the exact version;

For example:

BE version Number shows: 12.5.2213.x

MajorVersion=12

MinorVersion=5

Build=2213

No seperate service pack installed: <0> i.e. 12.5.2213.0

After Service Pack 2 and the Hotfixes Installed and Pushed : 12.5.2215.133

Build version changed: <2215> indicates the level of service pack and the last part <133>  hotfixes.

  • Check the remote agent version from media server:

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH15524

  • Check the remote agent version from remote server:

From the BE Remote Agent utility icon in the System Tray.

BE remote agent utility (either Remote server or Local server)-> Right click the icon-> About.

And, then verify it with the media server version.
