Below has 2 scenarios to propose certain Symantec solution for each of them.

 

Scenario 1:

- Customer has 40 PCs and 2 servers. All PCs run Win7Pro and Win2008R2 servers.

 

Which product and quantity of Symantec software to quote?

 

Scenario 2:

- Customer has 250 PCs and 20 servers. All PCs run Win8.1Pro, servers runs Win2012R2, have one server running Exchange 2013 Std and all servers are virtualized platform with VMware vSphere.

 

Which product and quantity of Symantec software to quote?

1. Use Backup Exec 15 for the servers...

2. Use Desktop and Laptop Option for the desktops. Read below for more information:

Desktop and Laptop Option

https://www.veritas.com/product/backup-and-recovery/desktop-and-laptop-option

 

DLO is a dedicated backup application for desktops and most likely cheaper in terms of licensing than if you had to go and buy a RAWS agent per VM. Bear in mind that DLO ONLY runs to disk, while BE does disk and tape (and a combination for duplication purposes). You need to factor that in mind when scoping your solution for the client.
