Systerm State files not backing up~!!

I hve had this issue off and on and now i finally want to rid myself of this problem...We were receving back up fialure notifications after our nightly backs up saying that "Could not back up System State file"

It wasnt the permissions that was causing the the trouble and there was plenty of space for the system state files to be backed up...then the problem went away and we didnt get any failure notifications from the back exec...

..now we are again.....I have applied the patches and service packs and still nothing has fixed it....why does it fail sometimes and others it doesnt???

We would like to know where does the message of "Could not back up System State file" appears ?
Is it in the backup job log or in the event viewer ?

With what error the backup job is failing ?

Is it a local backup or a backup of a remote server ?

What is the exact version of Backup Exec ?
