Tape ejects spontaneously

Hi,

Our backup completes every day succesfully. When we replace the tape, the tape ejects spontaneously after 20 minutes. Other times after 5 minutes. Every week we use the cleaningtape. The problem are not the tapes because we bought new ones. The tapestreamer is a Compaq AIT 50-100.

All the latest updates are installed on the WIndows 2000 system, but the problem is still there.

Anybody a solutions for this strange problem?

Hi,

This might be caused if the media that us available in the drive is full or is not appendable.

-Have you selected the option Backup Tab ->Device and Media->Eject Media after job completes?

-Ensure that there are no pending alerts under the "Alerts" tab in Backup Exec. If yes, respond to them accordingly.

-Verify if the media used for the backup job has reached to its capacity.
