I just uninstalled BE 10(d) yesterday which had been working very well for over a year and installed a fresh copy of 11(d) 6235 yesterday, applying a number of patches (20 is the last one). I have a Sony SDX-700C (AIT3) drive.
I had a number of annoying glitches but finally got my jobs set up and let my first 11(d) backup run last night.
I inventoried the existing tapes in 11(d). When I was testing the jobs that I had to recreate (because of the fresh install), most of them failed with both hard and soft read and write errors and the drive light indicated that I needed to replace the tape. Granted that the tapes get frequent use and perhaps ought to be replaced anyways, why would I not see this happen on 10(d) at all and immediately after upgrading to 11(d)?
Fortunately a couple of tapes seem okay and I've ordered new tapes but I'd like to know if anyone has had a similar experience of can offer any insights.
Thanks.
Jon
