I am getting the error described in http://support.veritas.com/docs/273455 and I would like to know how to resolve it. It has happened twice in a row now. What should I look for?
Regards
James

Like it is mentioned in the technote:
Various things can cause such an error: losing power to the tape drive or server, a system or engine service crash, or a tape drive failure.

Check if there are any Event .ID 5,7,9,11 or 15
Following documents can help you further:

I have checked in the log and the only events which have a code of 9 or 15 relate to printing.
This problem occurs everynight during the backup, so we can rule out system or engine crash. Do you think it could be a hardware fault?
Thanks

Hi,

Download and install latest Veritas driver from following link:
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/273853.htm

Clean the device per the manufacturer's recommendation and if required, reboot server and recycle power on the drive to clear the error.

Try using a fresh media.

Make sure that the tape device/autoloader is upgraded to latest firmware.

Try erasing the media.

Stop "Removable storage" service and change startup type to manual.

Perform the backup with Windows native backup utility NTbackup and observe the result.
