Final error: 0xa00084f8 - The network connection lost

I have been getting this failure sporadically when backing up a remote machine. There is nothing in the event log of either server to suggest that the NIC actually lost connection. Nor is there any evidence of problems with the network hardware. My suspicion is that it might be timing out while backing up large files. Is there a known problem with backing up a 100+GB single files?
