Hello We are backup about 2gb over a network, We keep getting this error. The network connection to the Backup Exec Remote Agent has been lost. the question on mu tools and network the ports are not ticked? Should they be? Then I let our firewall people open up the port 1025 and 65535 so I ned to open up any ports on the server with the remote agent? From symantec 0xe00084f8 - The network connection to the Backup Exec Remote Agent has been lost. Check for network errors. When backing up any remote resource, the server name may need to be used instead of UDS by IP address in some cases. As long as the following conditions are met, the backup will work: The ports specified in TOOLS > OPTIONS > NETWORK AND SECURITY are open in the firewall rules. The correct version of the Remote Agent for Windows Servers is installed on the server to be backed up. When selecting the remote server that is on the other side of the firewall, select the server under FAVORITE RESOURCES icon.

HI jwc1972,

do you know  this Symantec Articles ?

If yes, and you have implemented it, i would suggest that the Firewall has a Problem with the traffic.

I have seen comparable symptoms in the past with firewalls.

Sorry that is the only advice which im able to provide in the moment ...
