Two Symantec Products, One Problem

TuxThePenguin
Not applicable

I have encountered this problem with Backup Exec

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH126412

which references an Altris file

c:\program files (x86)\altiris\altiris agent\agents\wmiprovideragent\altirisagentprovider.exe

Does anyone know what registry key I need to remove to safely dereference the file above so that the VSS writers do not look for it?

I am wary or deleting random references to the file in the registry.

Hi,

Either recreate the file in that directory, or exclude the file/directory.

You can create that file through Notepad and rename it to the name.exe.

To exclude the file, add it in as an explicit exclusion, or deselect the directory.

Thanks!
