We recently upgraded from an SDLT 160/320 drive to a DLT-S4 drive and are seeing very similar backup rates even though the hardware itself is rated much higher. To get an idea about what to focus on, I'm curious what other people running the same drive are getting with different types of data. Here is what we are getting:
Exchange = 1500 MB/min
SQL = 1250 MB/min
Web Server = 450 MB/min
File Server = 400 MB/min
I know there are a lot of factors involved; I'm looking for similar backup hardware results to get an idea about where to focus to improve rates if possible.
