USB2 Tape Drives

I have backupexec 9.1 running on Windows 2003 SBS, and want to use a USB2 AIT2 drive from Sony.

The OS sees the device as a tape drive, but 9.1 does not find it when "add drive" is selected.

Have I bought a drive that is not supported by 9.1?

Is there a fix?

Should I use the firewire option that the drive supports

answers pleas on a postcard...

According to the HCL at http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/271382.htm
the only device types supported are SCSI and ATAPI

Hello,

Backup Exec does not support USB tape drives. Only USB Hard drives are supported. Please check the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL).

USB interrfaced harddrives are supported only if they appear as a drive letter in Windows Explorer.
