1. Did you purchase and install an Agent for Applications and Databases license on the media server? 2. What is the OS of the machine that you install BE on?

Hi TNO,

Make sure that the BE Service Account has permissions to Exchange as per the TN below:

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for reply,

I'm using Backup Exec 2014 trial version and I installed Agent for Applications and Databases.

The OS that I installed BE is Windows Server 2012 Standard.

I using the same domain account when installed Mailbox server and Backup Exec server. So I think this account have full permission to access both servers.

Thanks

Just having a domain account isn't sufficient for Exchange backups. You can either check the permissions manually or use the SymHelp Tool to check the permissions - https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH170752.html

Also, try reinstalling the Agent for Applications and Database. Click on the BE button - Installation and Licensing  - Install Agents and Options. Uncheck the Agent for Applications and Database and proceed ahead with the install wizard till it completes. Repeat the steps and this time, check the Agent for Applications and Database option.

...you need to check the TN I posted as this tells you the rights you need to backup Exchange.

Thanks!
