Unable to uninstall Backup Exec 2010 agent

Hello there

I'm having a problem uninstalling my server agent, on my Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 system. When ever I start the uninstallation, I get the following error:

Install Error:

Error 1402. Could not open key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Backup Exec for Windows\Backup Exec\Agent Browser. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

Afterwards it just rolls back, and that's that.

Any suggestions?

Right click and say Run as Local Admin and try

...and make sure you are a local admin on that server in order to do that. I find that UAC at times also causes a bit of chaos when it is enabled...

From regedit you can edit permissions for agent browser.

Right click on Agent Browser and click on permissions.
