Unknown media in Deduplication Storage Folder device

OGS
Level 4
Running Backup Exec 2010 64 bit on a Windows 2008 64bit server with Quad core and 20GB of Ram.

We recently ran out of space (or at least clsoe to it) on the volume in which our Deduplication folder Device resides. Apon further investigation, we discovered that the Device is loaded with Media Labeled with the description of "Unknown Media" and belonging to the Scratch Media Set. Size is 0 bytes, so it may not be related to our capacity issue, but where is this scratch media coming from, and why isnt it beign used or removed ?

When the first Deduplication backup job starts and looks for media in the PDDE folder. Backup Exec will create 10 virtual Media segments. These show as "Unknown Media". As the backups run each "Unknown Media" gets used up. Once Backup Exec uses the last piece of the virtual media, 10 more will be created. It is completely normal to have some "Unknown Media" in the Deduplication folder. It will not be normal to have thousands of these files. If there are only half a dozen or so pieces of these unknown files then this is within normal operation of the Deduplication folder.

No, it is in the hundreds, maybe thousands. I'm goign to see if the Hotfix posted in the previous reply will help.
