Upgrade problems from 9.0 to 10

We are trying to upgrade 12 or so servers to backup exec 10 but have run into 2 problems after insatlling the first server.

During the upgrade our main server that hosts the database the installation process said it could't transfer all our settings across. The installation completed however all our previous jobs, templates, selections are missing. This was our only record of the jobs for all 12 servers so it would almost be impossible to recreate all the jobs from scratch. The backup said it was tacken successfully so i need some way of tranfering the backup into the version 10 database.

Secondly after installation, the tape drive is listed as off line however i can see the tape drive under devices. During the installation we chose to stick with the IBM drivers for a 3850 tape drive because thats what we had working previously in version 9.

It just seems odd that they now don't work under version 10

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Initially we would like to know whether you have a SAN setup in your environment.

Send the contents of the bkupinst.log located in \windows.

Ensure that the Drive is listed in our HCL. Refer the following link.

Reconfigure the SCSI ID and set the ID between 2 and 5.
