Upgrading Backup Exec 2010 to R3

Hi ,all

1 ) Do we need to  run the  previous upgrade   before upgrading to R3 ?

2 )Do we need to restart After upgrading Agent

3)What are the concerns before upgrading Agent  in  ExchangeDB server and  CAS & HUB

4)How to upgrade  BackupExec 2010 to R3 (Media server )

5)Do i need to push agent in  all the member servers in the DAG

1) You can directly upgrade from BE2010 to BE2010 R3.

2) Reboot is not required after upgrading agent if AOFO is not installed but if AOFO is already installed

   then a reboot is required.

3) Nothing much to worry about.

4a) Stop SQL server BKUPEXEC service and make a copy of DATA and CATALOGS folder both are 

   located at X:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec.

4b) download and extract or burn R3 ISO.

4c) Run the installation of R3 

4d) After installation run live update and install all the updates

4e) Reboot server.

5) Push or local install R3 agent on all the remote servers.
