Upgrading from BUE 10 to 11D

Hello, I am currently running BUE 10.0 and I just bought 3 more AOFO license but they are for 11D. I have my upgrade notification and FINALLY got the license numbers.  I tried downloading the upgrade, but one file kept getting corrupted so I'm waiting on the CD.  When I upgrade from BUE10 to 11D, will my current license be updated as well?

Thanks
Julian

Hello,

You will get different license keys for 11d. The 10 licenses will not be carried forward.

Go to http://licensing.symantec.com and pull the license keys for 11d.

Hi, Before you even attempt the upgrade, go to the Symantec licensing portal, register your upgrade notification, and get the license key for BE11d and any other options you have. You'll also need to add the new AOFO licenses.
This can take quite a while, which is why you should this first!

Then install BE11d. It will upgrade your BE10 installation and ask for the license keys during installation. You can then include your new licenses.

Just to go with what Dev T mentioned above, make sure you have an upgrade of your DB before doing the installation. That way, if anything does go wrong, you still have something to fall back on. And something can always go wrong.
I'd also suggest rather looking at Backup Exec 12.5 at an ABSOLUTE minimum...BEWS 11D is old, and end-of-life. BEWS 2010 should also be a serious consideration with the latest support.

The comment below is simply a rephrase of Dev's answer to you!
