Using Version 10 SN's in Version 8.6 software

Is thare a way to convert the version 10 SQL agent Serial number so that I can use it in my 8.6 install?

I don't really want to upgrade to 10, and I can't buy the 8.6 version agent license.

Nope.

Used to be that if you had a still supported version, if you provided both the base serial and the newer agent serial, that Veritas would provide a valid older agent serial

If you hvae the disk space available, you could schedule a Dump-to-Disk from within SQL, and then do a flatfile backup of the dump file

or

EBAY (usually) and ISellSurplus.com (often) have older BackupExec Serials for sale
