System info:
SBS 2003 R2, with Symantec Backup Exec 11d installed.

I have upgraded Backup Exec from 10 to 11d build 7170
Now I cannot select system state and shadow copy components in the job selections. Got an error message says " An error was encountered while attempting to browser the content of system state. A failure occurred accessing the writer metadata."
And this also generates two error events in the event log.

VSS: event id 8193
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine CoCreateInstance.  hr = 0x80004002.
VSS event id 20
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: A critical component required by the Volume Shadow Copy service is not registered.  This might happened if an error occurred during Windows setup or during installation of a Shadow Copy provider.  The error returned from CoCreateInstance on class with CLSID {faf53cc4-bd73-4e36-83f1-2b23f46e513e} and Name VSSEvent is [0x80004002].

I run this command from comand line
VSSADMIN LIST WRITERS

Cannot get any writers from the reslut.

Any idea of my problem? Thanks very much.

This is an issue that you would really want to consult with MS about.  If it were me, I would go ahead and re-apply R2 on that server.  I have a strong feeling that re-applying that might take care of it for you.
