Veritas 10.0 won´t start - only remote

We have Veritas Backup Exec 10.0 on a Win2000 Server. Accessing the Server via remote Desktop-Connection and starting Veritas all ist fine.

Trying to start it local on the Server - Veritas Window starts an collapses at once - without error and without a message in the Event-Log.
What could that be?

When the backup exec application is terminated, please check in the services if the backup exec services are stopped.If so please report to us the services stopped.
Also try to start the services if they display an error message please tell us this exact error message.
