We've got 10d backing up our Exchange 2003 server, and if I open Outlook on the server I see lots of these Veritas MAPI Components listed. I'm assuming those are created when it performs the backup, but shouldn't they be deleted? I searched the Symantec support site & these forums and haven't found much of anything.
I do know that a technician from our Exchange server vendor monkeyed around in there earlier this year and caused some backup issues. Chances are this is related. I'd much rather fix it myself than give him a shot at further mayhem and destruction.
