Veritas driver problem

Dave_Salmon
Not applicable
Running v9.1 Rev 4691 on a Windows 2003 server, with an HP Storageworks SDLT320 drive attached via SCSI.
Ever since I had the server 18 months ago I have suffered with various backup failures (CRC errors, ADAMM mover errors etc) and now notice a large number of 33152 errors in the event log.
Have attempted to follow Veritas Troubleshooting doc 255501, but installing Veritas drivers does not appear to work as they do not update the device properties for the drive. There seems little point in continuing the troubleshooting guide until I can get the Veritas drivers installed.

Hi Dave,
Try running c:\program files\veritas\tapeinst.exe and selecting "use Veritas drivers for all devices" or similar.

Hello,

"Event id 33152" this error may occurs because of the hardware problem.

Try installing latest Veritas device drivers using following link:-
VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.1 - Device Driver Installer (20050115) - Includes Tape Driver Release (20041231) and Robotic Library Release (45) (Intel Only) http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/273853.htm

If this does not resolve the issue we suggest you to install the SP2 on the backup exec media server

VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.1 for Windows Servers revision 4691 - Service Pack 2
http://support.veritas.com/docs/275247

-- We also suggest you to contact the hardware vendor to get resolve the problem of the device.
