Virtual File Filter Error on Exchange 03 Backup

Whenever I try to do a backup of my exchange server with BE11d (7170) I get the following error if I have selected the option to restore individual e-mail messages:

Exchange -- The job failed with the following error: This operation requires that the Backup Exec Virtual File Filter (VFF) driver be installed on the media server. Install the appropriate Backup Exec agent for the resource, and then run the job again.

I saw some posts that refer to removing the exchange agent from the media server and re-installing but I don't see how to do that.  Any suggetions to what is causing this error?  Thanks,

More info.  I looked at this thread:

Which talks about the VirtFile driver.  I don't have that on either my Media Server or my Exchange server?  Should I?

Give this technote a shot.

If that does not work try these steps.

1. Go to Tools - License Keys and Installation
2. Remove the Exchange License.
3. Finish the installer
4. Reboot the Backup Exec server
5. Go back to tools - License Keys and Installation
6. Re-enter the Exchange License
7. Finish the installer
8. Reboot the server again.
9. Test your exchange backup
