Way To View Backup Jobs From bedb_log.bak

When we got our LTO5 tape loader, we decided to use this as a chance to setup things more 'optimally' in Backup Exec.

  1. Move from having an SQL DB on the same server as the BK2010 software.

We archived all the Backup Exec databases: bebd_log.bak, bebd_dat.mdf, and so on that was stored in the Symantec Data directory.  Now Backup Exec is pointing to a SQL server, and everything is working out great.

Until today, I need to somehow view the backup jobs that where run back when we used LTO3 media.  The problem is that data is inside those bebd_log.bak & bebd_dat.mdf files.  Any ideas on how I can view the data inside without disrupting the current BK2010 environment?  I should note that the files archived was when we where running Backup Exec 12.5.

Install BE12.5 on a test server and import the database files to check the job deatils.

Hi Desmith,

You should be able to use beutility to do the task at hand, you should be able to move your data to a SQL server if needed I have posted an article for you and hope this helps.
