Hi All,

I am currently looking at which agents I need for a particular deployment and I am totally lost to honest. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Scenario:

Windows Server 2008 (Host) - will either have an internal tape drive or removeable USB HDD's
Windows Small Business Server 2008 (VirtualPDC)
Windows Server 2008 (VirtualTS)

What I am looking to achieve:

Windows Server 2008 (Host)
- Backup of System State
- Backup of both VM/VHD's
- Restore of VM/VHD as a whole

Windows Small Business Server 2008 (VirtualPDC)
- Backup of System Sate
- Backup of Files/Folders
- Backup of Exchange inc individual mailboxes/messages
- Restore of Files/Folders
- Restore of Exchange inc individual mailboxes/messages

Windows Server 2008 (VirtualTS)
- Backup of System Sate
- Backup of Files/Folders
- Restore of Files/Folders

In addition to the core product what agents are recommended?

Thanks again.

Peter.

Hi there,

You'd need the Hyper-V agent that Backup Exec 12.5 has. This would allow for GRT restores and backups of your VMs.
Along with that, you'd need an agent for the Exchange VM, and 2 RAWS (Remote Agent for Windows Servers). Just double-check on the 2 RAWS agents...I think that the Exchange agent ships with a RAWS agent as standard, meaning you would only need 1 then.
