Hi,

Today one of the backup job goes on Queued because of no empty media is there is for writing data. So that I inserted one media to write and I also run Inventory. But neither any event happened.

Then I Quick Erased the Media but now also my Job is in Queued Position.

What should I do?
Can you please suggest me the solution for this?

Hi Ashish,

What data are you backing up?

Is it a local or a remote backup? Have you installed the latest drivers? If no please do the same. Refer to this link:

VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.1 - Device Driver Installer (20050115) - Includes Tape Driver Release (20041231) and Robotic Library Release (45) (Intel Only)

Hi Rucha,

I am taking the backup of remote servers.

I not yet installed latest drivers.

We are using IBM SLX 4560 Tape Library. Is there any need to update drivers for this library?

Please reply.

Thanks.

Hello,

Please check, whether the device that you are using is there in our Hardware Compatibility List.

Kindly refer the following document for the same:

Symantec Backup Exec for Windows Servers (tm) 9.x (9.0, 9.1) Hardware Compatibility List. Includes HCL information for supported drives, libraries, virtual tape devices, fibre-channel HBAs, switches, routers/bridges, and iSCSI components. For printing purposes, the latest version of Acrobat is recommended.

If the Device is tested, then install the Veritas Drivers. But if the Device is compatible then install the OEM Drivers.

Thank You.

Shweta

From the devices tab, is the tape drive started and ready?

Are all the BackupExec services started on the media server?
