Windows 2003 Server R2 running much slower

About a month ago I installed Windows Server 2003 RELEASE 2 on two of my servers. Since then, my backups have gone from 6 hours to more than 10 hours.

I searched the forums and saw a thread about this but no resolution other than the usual "why backups aren't as fast as the theoritical max" and "be sure to defrag".

Has anyone else experience this and come up with a solution?

Try a backup to disk job of about 1 gig then try ntbackup to disk 1 gig and see what happens
Just to rule out the tape hardware /tape drivers/scsi drivers afecting the performance

OK, I did the two suggested test with the follow results:

Backupexec to disk: 1.1GB in 1.07 minutes
NTBackup to disk: 1.1GB in 4.38 minutes
Backupexec to tape: 1.1GB in 2.28 minutes

The full backup which I did this past Friday/Saturday took 13 hours (380GB). The last full backup before RELEASE 2 was 7.5 hours (392GB).
