Is the RALUS running on the Linux server...Also, is the firewall / SELINUX disabled ?

Your problem might be due to the fact that RHEL 5.5 is not supported.  The SCL only list 5.4.  See the SCL below

This looks obvious (but you never know ;) :

  • - Did you double-check the password (login information) of root in Backup Exec ressources authentification ?
  • - And are you using the right authentification/connexion account for that server ?

You can access them from Backup Exec console menu :

  • - Choose "Network" and then "Connection accounts"
  • - They shouldn't be "limited" I think

You can also test them :

  1. Create a backup job and go to Properties > "Ressources authentification information"
  2. There, you can test the connexion.

I hope it will help you. I also got these problems once.

make sure the backup exec daemon is starting,

 /etc/init.d VRTSralus.init start

PaulDca,

Did you check the points I gave you ?

I already had this problem and it was due to the passwords in Backup Exec

Good luck !

So I believe that for the system login, you are using the root username of that linux box ?

username and password do match, also I've tried different user accounts and I've reset the passwords on Linux side as well.
