Writing Speed

Hi,

We have a Dell PV-124T Tape Library, since last week I can see that some jobs has realy low Writing speed to the tape and last night the speed was someting like 40 MB/min!! but this job before has something like 1040 MB/min and also there are some jobs that has about 4000 MB/min Write Speed.

Any idea why is this speed comeing down?

Well it woulkdnot be your tape drive in this case as the other backup job are running with good speed. Check the selection for the backup job running slow , see if it points to specific server or sepecific resourse.

Make sure there is not antivirus scan running at the same time when the backup is running . Try copying some file from from the proablem server to the media server and backup the same files again using BE and compare the time it took to copy and backup .

What I don't understand is, the problematic Job had also good speed, and after I think 2 month start to run slow, I did also check the AV on the servers and all of the run the update and scan of the Drives out side of the job frame time.
