advance open file

Hi i'm using veritas9.0 and i want to backup a remote server, i have installed the remote agent for windows but is it a must to also install the agent for open file system because i'm using advance open file system during backup.

i forgot to mention that i have pushed the agent from my instalation cd ruther than from the media server is this a problem. thanks.

If you are backing up a server using the AOFO option then it is a must to install this option on the server that you wnat to back up.

you said i have to install it on the client that's being backed up, do i have to install this also on the media server that's doing the backup as well how about sql servers, is it a good idea to use AOFS on them. thanks.

You have to install this option on all the servers that you want to use this option.

For databases backups AOFO is not recommended.
