attempt to write data past the end of the media error

I'm running Backup Exec 11d on Windows 2003 Server.  I get a random error on some but never the same B2D jobs "V-79-57344-34034 - An attempt to write data past the end of the media has failed." There are plenty overwriteable files available in my B2D folders within the same media set?

Eugene:

Hi.  This error could be cause by corruption on the Backup to Disk (B2D) files.  I will suggest you to run a defrag on the volume where the B2D files are located, also run a check disk.

Final error: 0xe00084f2 - An attempt to write database end of media has failed. Backup Exec returns an error in the backup job log stating "Tape access reached a file mark."
