Hi there,

You would want to get a copy of your Data and Catalogs folder, and your SQL instance for Backup Exec (SQL\BKUPEXEC) if you have the SQL agent. Backup Exec 12.5 ships with a 60-day trial license for SQL, so enable that and use it to back up your data.
Data and Catalogs are the 2 important folders.

As Craig said Backup the DATA and the CATALOGS folder.

1  : Stop all the BE Services
2  : Stop the SQLServer(BKUPEXEC)  service
3  : Copy these folders on a safe location.
4  : Start the SQL Service only and uninstall BE through ADd Remove Program.
5  : Reboot the Server
6  : Install BE.
7  : Stop all the BE Services
8  : Stop the SQLServer(BKUPEXEC)  service
9  : Rename the existing DATA and CATALOGS folder to .OLD
10: Bring the copied DATA and the CATALOGS back.
11: Start the SQL Service first and than the BE Services.

Hope this helps...

By performing  the steps mentioned in your posts allow for importing all of the existing jobs, backup logs (completed job information) etc?  Or is that simply for the media server itself?

I'm performing a rebuild of our BENT server this weekend, and would like to be able to simple export/import and be up and running if possible, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel starting from scratch.

The procedure listed in the TechNote I referenced before will migrate a complete install to a new or rebuilt media server

Be sure to read the "Do Not Use If..." near the top, as there are some caveats
