beserver.exe - 100% cpu utilization

I just install Backup Exec 11d on a Win2K SP4 server. When the beserver.exe service start the cpu jumps to 100% usage.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Thanks.

did you install the rollup pack 1 after sp4? and try to install the hotfix 2 of BE11d.

Yes, I installed the SP4 rollup and the hot fix from Symantec to no avail. I decided to install Backup Exec 11d on a Windows 2003 server after waiting on hold for 1 1/2 hours with Symantec. I haven't had a backup for 2 days, except tonight, thanks to the purchase of a new virtual tape library. I still have to uninstall the SCSI card and the robotic tape library from the Win2K server and install on the Win2K3 server for offsite backups. A major pain in the neck.

Don't count on Symantec to help with any major problems with 11d. Should of purchased CA Arcserve instead.

Thanks for the reply Simon.
