Hello,
Backup Exec has SNMP support that is installed automatically if the server
has SNMP enabled at the time of installation. If Backup Exec is unable to
find any SNMP Host to send the alerts to, it will log all SNMP log attempts
in to besnmp.trc file.
Refer to the following technote to disable the SNMP alerts if you would like to stop this file from growing.
<>
BESNMP.TRC is actually only a Trace File and it logs all the SNMP Traps received. It can be safely deleted.
Note: Alternatively you can move this file ("BESNMP.TRC") to another location and rename it . The Backup Exec Services need to be recycled, once this file is transferred to another location. This will create a fresh copy of BESNMP.TRC file.
We hope this will help you.
NOTE : If we do not receive your intimation within two business days, this post would be marked assumed answered and would be moved to answered questions pool.>
