can not backup a server with an agent installed

nned help, I have successfully installed the BU agent on a W2K3 server. It has a service and it is running. The install log states that the agent was installed successfully. Also have Exchange. We have valid serial numbers.

When I go to back up the server the hidden $ shares are ghosted so I cannot backup the server.

I have installed remotely, Locally and command based with the same results.

Is there a firewall between the servers?

Try adding this server to your favorites backup list as a UNC path and see if you get the same result.

Check the file C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\services on the target server. If this line isn't there, add it:

"ndmp 9004/tcp #Network Data Management Protocol"

Restart the Backup Exec Remote Agent service. That should do it.
